[ His chin drops before nodding. ] I have been thinking that a break would be good for me. I'm feeling emotionally fatigued lately... my emotions have always been somewhat limited in terms of how much and to what degree I feel, but lately...
[ He shrugs. ] I believe you're correct that everything will settle back down once the city is put right.
[Robin gives a smile back.] No, I became a professor for the atmosphere. It's nice, calm, and I can be around books it felt like it was a good choice. A nice change to my other working environment. [While she enjoyed the lifestyle after she got enough money for college, she decided to find another career.]
Hmm, the city changing is affecting everyone. While I enjoy talking to my students and colleagues it is always nice to take a break. Have you been talking to a lot of people lately?
It is good that a person does what makes them happy. Life is, after all, unbearably short. If we do not decide to be greedy this lifetime, we will never find any sort of satisfaction. [ So he says -- a man who has no greed for himself. ]
That's true, if you don't watch it, it could be over in a blink of an eye. It's best to be able to get as much fun and satisfaction as you can, well as long as you can I suppose.
[It's also good to find people to share that fun with. She's starting to realize that now.]
Yet it seems like those younger than us would rather fulfill their roles rather than seek out what might make them happy. It's unfortunate... but if we're able to convince them to take a chance now rather than later, it may end in something worthwhile for them.
