Personality

Robin can be described as one of the calmer members of the Strawhat crew. She’s quiet and reserved, only speaking out whenever there’s something going on. She doesn’t participate in the sillier antics of the crew, though she doesn’t discourage it either. She can be found either reading on the ship or talking with one her crewmates. It could be easy to assume that she doesn’t notice anything around her when she does. She’s one of the most observant members of the crew. She makes sure that nothing important gets lost or that they don’t end up in immediate danger. She cares very much about the people in her life that she will go to any lengths to protect them.

It’s not easy to get to know Robin. Due to her past she keeps her heart very guarded that she will only open up to people that she can completely trust. When she does manage to trust someone she becomes their loyal friend, ready to offer her help to them. She doesn’t think it’s possible for anyone to trust someone they just met without an ulterior motive. She assumes that someone will want something out of their partnership, so she tries to ready herself for when it will happen. When it turns out that person doesn’t want anything from her, she’s not sure how to react. Someone being sincere is one of the easiest ways to catch her by surprise. And she’s someone who doesn’t get caught of guard very easily. However, after working with so many people that wanted something from her, finding someone that doesn’t feel fake. She’ll believe it once her surprise wears off.

Despite her calm, reserved image she actually has a very active imagination. There are times she will imagine something silly such as sitting on the backs of the stronger members of her crew while they swim across the ocean. However, no one will ever know what she’s thinking cause of her poker face. She has the best poker face, being able to hide her silly thoughts really well. She also enjoys macabre humor. She doesn’t shy away from talking about the gruesome ways someone could die. She might not be one of the silliest members of the crew, though she has her moments.

Robin also laughs at the face of danger. There’s isn’t much that scares her, only in extreme cases does she become scared such as when her life was in danger or when Kuma separated her from her crew. Other than that she mostly laugh at the situations where other members of the crew find scary. Robin finds a lot of things amusing that might shock or scare others. She doesn’t get angry very often when she does watch out cause she will let you know. Some of the easiest ways to get her angry is to put her crew in danger, destroy a book, or disrespect history. History is something that she’s very passionate about. It’s her dream to discover the true history of the world. It’s a dream that’s kept her going after the destruction of her island, along with being labeled as a fugitive at the age of eight, that she won’t let anyone get in the way of it. However, she’s more than happy to share her knowledge about the world or offer a book for anyone who’s looking for something new to read.

Robin is the mom friend that someone didn’t know they needed. She’s very good at taking care of others. She’s also great with children, she’s always ready to give them a smile, even if that smile is to hide her pain. She does her best to make sure that no one gets saddled with her problems, often hiding so she can go off to settle them by herself. It takes a lot for her to admit that she needs help, when she does finally admit it then she can accept it.

Underneath Robin’s calm and reserved demeanor lies a woman with a strong will to live, a passion for her dream that rivals the crew’s own, and a silly side that she perfectly hides behind her poker face. It might take awhile to get through her exterior, however when she lets you in you will find a compassionate person that cares for the special people in her life very much. When Nico Robin considers someone a friend they will have someone who will be by their side no matter happens.

SKILLS/ABILITIES: Hana Hana no Mi: Robin is a devil fruit user which means that she has this amazing power at the cost of being able to swim cause seawater makes her weak. Her devil fruit is called the Hana Hana no Mi (Flower Flower Fruit) where she can copy and sprout pieces of her body on a living person or a surface. When she’s fight she can sprout many hands on her enemies at once where she can break their necks or spine at the same time. She can use the arms to make a net to catch someone, create many arms to grab someone, and uses the arms as steps to climb a wall. She can create clones of herself, increase the number of limbs she can create, and make giant versions of her arms and legs too. Some of her special moves with this ability is:

Seis Fleur Twist: When she wraps her arms around an enemy’s upper body so she can twist it.

Ocho Fleur Flip: When she uses a pair of arms to knock the enemy backwards and pull them to the ground.

Clutch: Using her arms to wrap around the person so she can break their necks, sometimes backs in some cases.

Cuerpo Fleur Double Clutch: When she adds for more arms to herself and her clone, resulting in a total of 12 arms and with 6 arms for each clone.

Gigantesco Mano: When she can create giant versions of her arms and legs to use to kick or punch the enemy away.

Intelligence: She’s an archeologist and one of the smartest members of the crew. She can read poneglyphs, stone slabs that holds the true history of the world, she taught herself this skill when she was eight years old. She knows many different cultures of the world, histories of islands, important people in the world, and the list goes on and on. There isn’t much that Robin doesn’t know. If she doesn’t know it then she’ll learn, it doesn’t take her long for her to pick up anything either.

Agility/Strength: While she’s not one of the powerhouses in the crew she can handle her own. Due to being on the run since she was eight she’s learned how to escape from various situations and to take a punch. She’s able to dodge attacks very well along with moving her body with ease. Living on the run has increased her stamina as well. She can fight for longer periods of time without wearing out.

Tactician/Spy: Due to her intelligence and her high sense of danger, she’s able to create plans to help the crew either escape from someone dangerous or find the best way to attack the enemy. This skill is something she learned to keep herself safe during her childhood that she now uses it to keep her crew safe.

PHYSICAL DIFFERENCES: Nothing much has changed

AU HISTORY: -Robin was born in Russia to a curator mother and a translator father. They would travel the world with her to look at different artifacts and translate different articles.
-During their travels Robin fell in love with history that she learned the history of every place they visited.
-Her parents settled into Recolle when she was eight cause they wanted to give her a good, stable life.
-During her adjustment in school, she learned English which made it easier for her to do her assignments and get to know her classmates.
-She was a good student, though she always found herself drawn to the delinquent students of the class. It never interfered with her studies, though she would help improve their grades if she could.
-Robin did get bullied during her time in middle school for always being in the library. However, with her parents to help her, she was able to fight back against the bullying and find some people to call her friends.
-In high school, she was in the advanced courses and a student helper, often grading papers for her teachers or volunteering in the library.
-After high school, she decided to go to college to pursue her love for history. She takes a hostess job to help pay, so she wouldn’t have to worry her parents.
-She takes jobs in some of the seedier bars that could be found along the outskirts of the underworld. She doesn’t try to get a career in the underworld, but she knows enough people to teach her how to defend herself, how to gather information, etc.,
-During her time in college she learns Japanese that she can speak it fluently along with Russian. She has been studying French during her spare time too.
-After her 28th birthday she decided that she should probably try living a safer life that she leaves her hostess job to become a history professor at the university. When she’s not working at the university she’s working at the history museum.
-Robin keeps in contact with her parents often and visits them just as often too.
AU PERSONALITY: Since Robin wasn’t on the run her whole life, she’s trusting when it comes to people. She’s not as closed off when it comes to others trying to get close to her. However, she still doesn’t let others in too easily or know too much about her. It’s not over fear of someone turning her into the government, it’s fear over someone knowing the real her then not liking it. She’s more willing to ask for help for her problems instead of trying to do it herself. She cares a lot more for people not in her immediate group too.

She’ll continue to tease people while looking out for their well being. Robin’s passion for learning is the same, she wants to know everything out there. Robin still has her motherly instincts, including have a mom’s purse now that holds everything to keep them out of trouble. She’s open about her hobbies now, letting people know what she likes or doesn’t like. She has very strong opinions about movies based off historical events that she doesn’t hide anymore. Robin lets out true smiles and will try to have some fun.

However, without her crew she doesn’t know the feeling of someone liking her unconditionally that she has her heart guarded, mostly when it comes to romantic relationships. She doesn’t mind making friends now, falling in love is a different story. That comes with a vulnerability that she’s still learning how to work through it. She’s willing to try again. She has a soft spot for children and people considered delinquents. She will do anything and everything she can to support them.
Robin isn’t a happy go lucky person, though she is much happier.

Hello, I hope I’m not taking you away from making some record breaking discovery. I called to tell you that I’m going to begin teaching mornings again. That way I can have my evenings free. Hmm? My research? Do you mean for the university? Oh that research…

No, I haven’t been able to find anything on the history of this city. I’ve read through the books in the library, I’ve gone through the records in the history museum, but I come up with nothing. I’ve never been stumped like this before. Hmm? Leave it be? Now we both know I can’t do that. I’ll just have to try to research during the weekend instead. Well, I should look over my syllabus again. There are a couple of books I need to change on it. I didn’t put that many books on there, there’s only five this time. If I wanted to torture them I would have them read an epic, now that would be mean.

She spent time searching for a new place where she could learn about their history when the place she was looking for was in Recolle the whole time. There's so much mystery surrounding the history of the city that she can't resist trying to figure it out. She doesn't care how long it takes her, she's going to learn about the history of Recolle.]
